Moonlight on the Breakwater
Moonlight on the Breakwater is a dark, textured abstract work inspired by the movement of the ocean, the fractured shapes of a rocky shoreline, and the quiet glow of moonlight across the water. Built with deep navy, slate blue, charcoal, muted gray, warm ochre, rust, and soft ivory tones, the piece captures the coast after dusk — when the horizon begins to disappear and the waves become flashes of light against the rocks.
The composition uses layered blocks, angular forms, rough painterly edges, and restrained texture to suggest water, surf, and a rugged breakwater without becoming a literal seascape. Pale shapes move through the center like waves breaking across the shoreline, while the darker surrounding forms create a sense of depth, weight, and stillness.
Designed for refined interiors, Moonlight on the Breakwater brings a moody coastal presence into a space — atmospheric, sculptural, and quietly powerful.
